Are you are a girl who is thinking of starting a blog while working a full time 9-5 job? Or a girl who already has a blog, but doesn’t know how to manage it while working full time? Are you thinking was it a good idea at all to starting it in the first place? Then this post is especially for you. You don’t need to quit your job in order to become a successful blogger. True! Yes, it can be hard to manage and scale it at the very beginning. Especially when you have your personal life, kids, full time job, fitness classes, friends and family to catch up with. But you have your free time after job to dedicate to your blog that you need to plan carefully.
How on earth to find time after work to dedicate for your blog development? I am going to tell you my TOP 5 tips on how to run a successful blog while working full time in an office and balance your life. Let’s go!
1. DEDICATE TIME FOR CONTENT CREATION
Blogging takes time, a lot of time. If you want to succeed with your blog I recommend you treating your blog as your own business. It might not give you results at the very beginning, but tell me what business gives you a massive success already in the first stage? You should treat your time after work as time during which you can build a ground for your future. Treat the time off work as time you are working on yourself. During your office hours you have your tasks and time blocks you dedicate to the specific task, right? So do the same during your free time. Dedicate and plan time when you are going to create content, time when your thinking about ideas, writing blog posts, making photo shoots, paid advertising and other essential things.
2. BE ORGANIZED AND HAVE A “FREE TIME” CALENDAR
There are so many temptations and distractions during your “free time” that you want to spend not working. By “free time” I mean time that you don’t spent working your full time job. Be organized with your time off your work and create a calendar for the week ahead, what are you going to do on each day’s evening. It might be hard at first, but I guarantee you if you plan your week ahead and have a specific calendar built for yourself you will see how many more things can be done with just a little bit of planning. For sure, it requires discipline and dedication from your side.
3. LEARN TO SAY NO
We all have only 24 hours per day. It is up to us how we are going to spend them. For sure, to conquer work, family, fitness, sleeping and blogging, you won’t be able to say “YES” to everything. You should sacrifice some things, and learn to say “NO” to some things. For example, there is an interesting event your friends want you to attend, but you know that it will be no good for you and it won’t help you in achieving your goals. Then you can say “NO” to this event and try making your things done. Learn to listen to yourself and to your feelings.
4. INVEST IN YOUR BLOG AND BRAND
At your day job your employer want you to develop your skills and become a better at what you do, right? You attend different trainings, activities and workshops. I am sure you do! The same should be with your blog. Invest time and money in becoming a better person in what you do. In order to become better at blogging, public speaking, writing I recommend you investing in conferences, coaches, courses and books. Learning is always a good idea!
5. HAVE A BREAK
I know we all want to succeed and don’t want to waste our valuable time. But you deserve a break! It is necessary if you want to succeed. You are not a machine and we all need some rest. It is hard to run a blog and have a full time office job, while having a personal life at the same time. It is really really hard! Been there, done that! Therefore, don’t forget to take a break and enjoy the process. It is should be fun, not overwhelming!
I hope now you have a clearer picture on how to plan your time wisely. I know you can start and run a successful blog if you really want it. If I could do it, you can do it too!))
